Rapids

My nice big “sports” lens (300 f/2.8) is still in repair, been there since January. Unbelievable.

So I rented a lens in order to be able to shoot this weekend’s Rapids game.

To save a few bucks I went with an older and slower but still autofocus lens. I think 99% of what I shot was out of focus. Very frustrating. Plus, it was about 28 degrees out. The first half was fine but about ten minutes into the second half, my fingers went numb and I started shivering making it incredibly difficult to steady the camera and lens.

I still managed to get some decent shots out of the game.

The first image above is Jimmy Conrad of the Wizards. Jimmy and I struck up a bond during the Men’s National Team training camp in January 2007. We had some good laughs filming Mr. Conrad’s Training Camp.

Jimmy and his father Kim were also two of the first three members in the Frank Fan Club - “Naughty, Stinky, Cute”.

Anyways, a couple more shots from the game the Rapids won 2-1.
